Case Study: Gerngross 2nd Dwelling UnitThis project is a conversion of an existing 1000sf garage to be used as a residence for Mrs. Gerngross on her daughter's property. Because the apartment was fairly small we went to great lengths to make the spaces interesting, both in shape and in volume. Curved walls and vaulted ceilings were used to provide special details to each of the individual rooms. The finishes are all clean and contemporary and were chosen for their low carbon footprint. Casework and cabinets were left without much detail to keep them from competing (eventually) with the art on the stark white walls. Services Rendered:
This is gas fireplace called the "Flat Fire" made by Solas. Check it out at wittus.com We like it because it looks like a piece of art hanging on the wall.
The front of the building before and after the alterations Besides working with the client on the design Siteline was also responsible for managing all applications for the 2nd dwelling unit at the county and have been responsible for construction management on the project. Some pics of the project in progress. We have finished the Shower glass and are getting ready to install the stainless steel backsplash in the kitchen. Stay tuned! |
